January at a glance

Hello friends,

What  a great month January was! Not only was the weather excellent, the discoveries we made as a class and as individuals were amazing! We have had some excellent pictures that showed all our work and they are posted on our twitter account.

In science we finished up our unit on forces by testing friction, buoyancy and through many other experiments. We are now on onto our Light and Sound Unit which has started off with FLASH and BANG! :) We even used a cool new way to have a quiz using an app called plicker!

In math we have done amazing with our "Math Chats" on all our exciting mathematical concepts. The students have done so well with Angles, 2D shapes, We did a very good job with our multiplication table as well!

In Language we have been working on our descriptive writing and have created some excellent pieces on google docs. They really used all their senses to describe their favorite toy, we learned why it is everyone's favorite! We have been working on understanding media and creating our own product and its commercial using green screen.

In art we have really made some excellent creations in the style of Pop Art, and we felt the music when we listened to the music and let our hands take over. We are also working on using boomwhackers and buckets for drumming.

Wow so much fun and exciting learning opportunities had and so much more to discover!
